today i woke up and went to somerset with dylan and amanda. we drove out there at like noon and went to the apple store cuz i had to get my compy repaired. i made a reservation for 4:00 and it was like 1:00 so we had a ton of time to kill just walking around. we had lunch in the food court adn went to a buncha stores and stuff.
Things I Bought )

After we shopped we went back to the apple store for my repair session. The guy hooked it all up (to a BEAUTIFUL monitor that I really want) and booted it and plugged in a hard drive, thats what wasnt working, and everything worked perfectly. He said that having it unplugged for more than five minutes reset the PMU and fixed the firewire. Fuck that. I was out there for four hours for nothing.

Almost immediately after getting home I had to go back out to Dearborn for dinner with the grandparents at Olive Garden. Last time we went my food was really bad but the salad and breadsticks were soo good so this time I didnt order anything else which was a really good decision.

Drove home. Watched olympics on tivo. I have it set up to tivo everything olympic related. I love it. In the 30k men's pursuit the defending gold medalist fell at the very beginning, someone knocked him over, so the other two guys from his country, norway, went to the front of the pack and kept the pace kinda slow to help him catch up. He got there like 45 minutes later after going all out, and then stayed up there and ended up with a silver medal. That's so cool.

So it turns out all that bad shit they tell you about Detroit is completely true.

its been a week, here's the weekend

no school friday for me, 3rd hour tutorial is pretty nice.

woke up. hung around my house, cleaned my room. amanda came over with kristin and nick and we went to carrier's. which was a good time. after we had to leave there everyone went to kara's for a little bit. i think that was pretty fun as well, without getting into details...

nick kristin dave and me, and others..i think...went to coney after that for some dins then to dave's house. I was planning on going to the dance but kinda lost a lot of motivation for that. We hung around dave's for a while longer before dipping over to erica's where we all kinda lounged around and watched some stand up and south park.

saturday da bears had a game early. i had like 15 points or something and a rebound or two (haha). it was a good game, down to the wire. we were losing by two with three seconds to go and only four guys on the court cuz tom fouled out to stop the clock. so me and drew go down for the rebound on the 1 and 1 and jamie and alex go down court. the kid misses the free throw and i get the board and just turn and throw it down court expecting someone to be down by our basket but alex thought i was just going to throw it to him at half court and the ball rolled outta bounds. game over. best game of the season. first playoff game is next weekend against jimmy c.

after that i was in a bowling tournament. 155. 181. 182. Pretty good scores. Followed by hanging out at home. Dave came over and we sat around looking for osmething to do/playing pockettanks and ping pong. pat, kyle and whitney joined us, followed by nick, spencer and william and we all just chilled and played more pocket tanks before pat and i had to leave to go to our soccer game.

the game was sweet, we played all these kids who were trash talking with accents so we couldnt understand them. we lost again by like four. whatever. the only real reason to go to soccer is to go to hooters after, which we did, and got a ton of wings.

drove home. watched tv. went to bed.

today, sunday, i've woken up, watched espn and the replacements, taken a shower, talked to amanda on the phone cuz she's in chicago, and now i'm about to go make lunch, william is on his way over.
iamthetallpaul
umm sunday and monday were/have been good.

sunday i woke up, hung around the house, picked up william, we rolled up to south so i could go to the meeting and he could get a book. then he walked to the beanery where i met him shortly after with spencer. We sat there for a while then went back to my house for some ptanks and boredness. Then they left cuz i had to eat dinner, i played dylan in ping poing, went to my cousin's birthday party

Then I met Pat, Elisabeth, Matt, Bob, Ben F, and Ali at Elisabeth's for the season premiere of 24!!! I was sad that I couldnt go to Kzoo, but mostly excited cuz Jack Bauer once put Chuck Norris in a sleeper hold, narrowly avoiding a roundhouse kick to the face. Elisabeth's house is really nice, and her couch is really comfortable, so it was a great 24 watching experience...as if things could ever not be great while 24 is on.

Then we all, minus Ali and Ben, rolled over to Katie G's, joining Laura, and we watched Amnyville horror. What a freakin scary movie. I was doing okay while sitting alone, but after Matt left and i stole his seat next to Elisabeth, and she kept screaming in my ear and kicking me, I started getting kinda freaked out. It was pretty good though. I dropped pat off and came home and went to bed.

Today i woke up around noon, was hyper productive and got all my lit terms done, then bummed around, and just went to the gym and got back. Now we've got an AP physics study session at Caribou then nothing, then 24...AGAIN! I love fox.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMANDA

last night was one of the best nights of the year

woke up, felt crappy, went to school, struggled through first through fourth hour, and took a nap in bio on the floor cuz i was feeling so awful. I took my old soc test at lunch and then went home and slept until like four. Bummed around the house until six when I picked up alex b and we went to jimmy john's for dinner and then to the game

There were already like 30 08's sitting on one side of the bleachers so rather than try to get everyone to move alex and me just decided to move the sign for the student section to the other side of the bleachers. The sophomores outnumbered the seniors at the game like 2:1 so that was kinda pathetic. The game wasnt bad, we lost, but there was some really good heckling and we got some kid to quit his team.

I dropped alex off to get his car then him, me, matt, mike, pat, bob, elisabeth, katie g, laura d, ali, kelly, malis, jrem, will o, and nick (i think that was everyone) met back at my house where we played ping pong, watched the three amigos and played most likely to, which is the best game ever. Some highlights:

  • MLT End a marriage with a fart: Malis
  • MLT masterbate with a cucumber: Katie G
  • MLT become a transvestite: Pat
  • MLT lose their virginity before the end of senior year: Everyone but Jeff
  • MLT ruin a good time by having a curfew: Laura D (She had to leave right after that)

There were a lot of other funny ones i cant think of. Then my parents came home which was almost as hilarious as the game. I convinced them to let me go to the soccer game, and did so. We lost but it was just an hilarious time. Drew was all faded and almost got in like four fights. We were going to go to hooters after but it was closed and then nobody was hungry enough for Coney so we just went on home.

    Overall: fantastic night.

    Today: Bowling, robo, ???

woke up. UGH that was hard.

showred, dressed, walked to school in the cold with my warm new hat. it was amazing.

    physics: demo/lab. it was chill.
hung out by the tower room but amanda didnt want to talk to me cuz she's weird.
lit: watched wit, read poems. i really like to his coy misteress and the one about the virgins, i can think of a lot of girls who could learn something from those....hahah
tutorial: we all just napped...next week is my last week of profe ever!!! unless i get my schedule changed, which i think i will...
bio: got our tests back. I did kinda ridiculous on that genetics test, especially for not studying at all.
lunch: amazing sandwich. turkey, mayo and colby. it was so good i had to share it.
gov: fell asleep with my eyes open. I didnt know i could do that, it was really cool. did dec on the test.
bc: did absolutely nothing. just sat there and zoned out. i hate that class so much.
    soc: articles and some survey.

i'm really excited about our gov field trip on thursday. courthouse. sweet.

after school i bummed around for a long time, didnt do bio labs like i shoulda, i have to do tomorrow and two thursday. plus a ton of math. ugh. then i cleaned my room, hung out online more, pizza for dinner. laura picked me up and we went to the basketball game and sat with meghan, becky, anna and eileen...i feel like i need some sort of acronym or word to describe that group, writing out all their names all the time is kinda obnoxious and theyre always together. then laura and i went to the gas station, bought gas, had a nice chat on the way home and later online. I was actually going to do some lit homework, but of course i forgot my notebook so now i'm posting and putting off some token bio before i go watch football.

"Acceptance of vague and generalized personality feedback was examined as a function of private self-consciousness in Experiment 1. Contrary to expectations, it was found that individuals high in private self-consciousness judged the personality feedback to be more accurate self-descriptions than did individuals low in private self-consciousness. A second experiment investigated the acceptance of general versus specific personality feedback. It was found that individuals high in private self-consciousness judged general feedback to be more accurate but specific feedback to be less accurate than did individuals low in private self-consciousness. In parallel with this, individuals high in private self-consciousness generated more confirmatory evidence for general feedback but more disconfirmatory evidence for specific feedback than did individuals low in private self-consciousness. The findings were discussed in terms of positive test strategies and confirmatory processing in the acceptance of personality feedback."

I really feel like self-conciousness is an unavoidable consequence of acceptance or seeking acceptance.

so a couple people told me that its kinda weird that i write about what i did and that people read it...and to them i respond, fuck you, but, i would like to take a moment to reaffirm the reason i even do this. basically freshman year i got sick of always telling people what i did that day/night/weekend so i decided to just write it all down once and then when people asked they could just read it. it was also the next step in the evolution of the infinite profile, which some of you may remember were very popular that year, it was like a sub profile but just a long thing where you could put a really long profile without the aim character limit. i then started hosting my own subprofile so i wouldnt have to show their annoying ads...i kinda wish i had backed up those files because there is a whole list of really funny freshman year quotes. most of them were whitney, she had her own page, back when we were tight. I hope she's reading this and thinking about the good old days...

anyway. this was a good weekend. friday we played some poker..then i dont really know what happened but long story short we were at pat's all night and i really felt like for the first time in a while i had a good weekend night where i was totally content to be where i was, even though it wasnt something i would otherwise consider really fun, but i wasnt worrying about what anyone else was doing or somewhere else i could be. we played a lot of project gothem and ping pong...eileen, meghan, anna, pat, andrew, and me. spencer and william and nick and bob had been there but left. the end.

saturday i woke up and we had a bball scrimmage against the bad boyz. i think we won but it was fun, and that, of course, is the important thing. after that i went with the fam to get a christmas holiday tree then to quiznos. after that we set up our christmas holiday tree and then william came over, we hung out, some other people were around, we went to taco bell, then to soup's where margi, dana, malis and alex were and hung out outside which was really fun, then went to wedding crashers. i love that movie.

    sunday sunday sunday!
woke up, didnt do anything. for a long time i think, but i feel like i'm forgetting some major event this morning...

whatever. all that really matters is our basketball game. oh yeah, we got killed, but we won because the other team had an ineligible team, which just goes to show you that it's still better to suck honestly than to win by cheating. especially when you cheat and lose even though you probably didnt need to cheat to win. something something karma something something learned their lesson.

then i went to dinner at the country club. the soup there is amazing. came home, watched tv, didnt do homework becuase i dont do that shit, talked on the phone for an hour with laura, and now i'm going to bed.

    Michigan State University
    Princeton University
    Rice University

    iamthetallpaul
woke up, snooze button three times...its getting harder to wake up every day. walked to school:

physics - lab. not enough comptuers = didnt do shit
THEN I SAW AMANDA BECAUSE SHE'S BACK!
lit - A on antigone test, watched a king lear movie
tutorial - went to the library and wrote my soc paper
bio - lab = didnt do shit
lunch - ate with everyone + marge. went to the library and finished my soc paper
gov - watched TV or something
calc - got our tests back, B+, could go up to an A cuz he's letting us redo one problem
    soc - watched movies

then after school i came home for a bit before leaving for the dentist. stupid dentist. i got a filling a month ago and since that day my tooth has hurt. as;diohgaoigh. they made it smaller or sometihng and said if it doesnt feel better to call them. bitches.

then on the way out i saw a little kid holding a magic card so i asked his dad if he wanted a bunch more cuz i remembered i had a whole bag of them in my car and the dad was like hmm sure so i went out and got them and gave them to him and felt good about it. except for the fact that i turned the kid into a loser for life.

then when i was driving home i was speeding down moross, but so was the guy in front of me, and we went through a speed trap, and by this time i was a little bit behind him but he hit his brakes and i thought i hit them late, then sure enough the cop pulls out and is right behind me at the light at kerch, and i was pretty much expecting to see some lights within a couple seconds, but he turned down kerch and probably pulled over the other guy!! i was happy about that

now i'm back at home, freezing my ass off, deciding which schools to apply to cuz i have to turn in the counseler forms by tomorrow. right now i'm thinking some warm places...
then i have lax at 8 to 9
    iamthetallpaul
